Incredible Eva

This little gem comes from my sister. My two and a half year old niece has just joined a new day care in canada. She has made some new friends who obviously have very good taste as the ensuing conversation shows :

Little Boy : You are incredible!!

Eva : No, i am Eva. The Incredibles are at home!!!

Observations :

Yes, we are a very grounded family with both feet planted firmly on the ground!!

But ofcourse, the little boy got it absolutely right :)

Quilling Concerns!

Jun's ammamma taught him paper quilling and he does it really well.

But arjun had better use for the quilling needle.

"Amma, can i use the quilling needle and make you hair curly?"

My hair almost defied gravity and stood up pointing at the ceiling at the very thought of my son doing my hair.

My fighter pilot son is slowly flying away. Hello to my newly arrived jawed habib son!

Oh dear.

Only words...

In a rather social situation, arjun suddenly stops all conversation with his exclamation of 'Who farted'? After uneasy laughter all around, especially from Maddy and me, we are able to move the conversation along.

Back home, we give arjun a long lecture on how he just canNOT talk that way. "Nobody says stuff like 'Who farted?'' and we better not hear you say that again, understood?''

Our man nods and looks at us with eyes filled with remorse and says, "okay...next time i will just say, whats that smell?''

Jurassic Park - Too Much!

""Amma, do you know what a rhinosaur's horn is made up of?"

I explained that its a dinosaur but a rhinoceros.

He seems to be taking this fact with a pinch of salt.

And for those who are wondering what the answer is, its hair!!

The Match Winner!

We have put Jun in a cricket camp. Not because he shows any particular talent but because he just loves the game so much.

Cricket practice is usually one day of net practice and one day is a match.

On a match day (much preferred to net practice day!) , we saw the most unusual game closer.

Arjun's team needed one run to win. Arjun was at the crease.

We are all chewing our non existent nails.

The bowler bowls.........its a wide and everybody comes and high-fives arjun!!

We know better than to have a reality check and thoroughly enjoy the situation :)

I must also mention, he is actually a much better bowler than he is a batsman and THAT ensures he is not the last one to get chosen by the captain!!

Too Long!

You know its been too long since you blogged when you forget the hyphen in your blog's address!!

Now, the reason for the post :

Amma, S (little girl downstairs) and i were having a dinosuar war. We both drew our dinosaurs and they were going to fight with each other. You know what i called mine?

What da?

(With necessary scary voice and movements) : I named mine 'KILLER FORCE'

Ooooh arjun, that sounds dangerous!

YES Amma!! (quite happy that i had got it.)

Do you know what S named hers ?

Tell me jun...

She named it (in falsetto)...'beauty butterfly' What kind of a name is that amma for a dinosaur?? And she also drew little butterflies all over its body!!

...and mother and son chuckled over a girl.

 May the good times last!!
